The Towne Crier opened in 1966 and is located on East Highway 80, on your way into Downtown. It has been an Abilene staple in the community for over 50 years serving the best hand-cut steaks, chicken fried steaks, homemade sides and providing the best salad bar in town!
Towne Crier's unique interior and exterior, designed by the original ownership in 1966, reflects the English, Tudor style of the late Medieval and early Renaissance times. They were inspired when they returned from a family vacation in England and came back to build the Towne Crier in Abilene, Texas! The restaurant has continued to serve the community of Abilene and their families with great food and great memories and will continue to do so with our current team who has over 40 years of management and operational experience. We look forward to seeing you soon!
